Low Shelving Filter
Purpose
The Low Shelving Filter behaves like the High Shelving Filter except it allows the low frequency components of the spectrum to be boosted or cut.
Controls
Bypass
The Bypass button bypasses the device.
Frequency
Adjusts the transition frequency of the shelving filter.
Level
This adjusts the level of the low frequency shelf relative to the un-shelved portion of the frequency spectrum.
Note: It is possible to overload the filter if Level is set above +0dB. Such an overload will be indicated by the Overload Indicator.
Overload
Indicates clipping in the filter. Clipping is only possible if the Level control is set above +0dB.
Graphical Frequency Response
Displays the frequency response of the filter. See the EQ Curve Graphics Display documentation for a complete description.
Frequency Response
The response of the Low Shelf filter is shown for a Level control setting of +6dB (red) and -6dB (blue) and a Frequency control setting of 1,000Hz.
