MM 88xx BoB Control
Purpose
The BoB Control devices represents the physical BoB in the system. It allows for monitoring of BoB health, displaying the BoB control voltage inputs, and setting the 8 TTL outputs.
In addition to the audio connections, each BoB has 8 analog control voltage inputs and 8 TTL control output ports. Control inputs can be linked to any control in the view file using control grouping. Once done, the controls in the same group as will follow the value of the control input. Conversely, the TTL digital outputs can be grouped with any control in the system as well. For example, if a TTL output is grouped with a Gate LED, whenever the gate LED is lit, the TTL output will go high.
Controls
Comm Error
Indicates trouble in communications between the BoB and DPU. The indicator is automatically extinguished when the problem is no longer detected.
Note : When a communications error is initially detected, a detailed error message is printed in the Terminal Window. Subsequent detection of communication errors will not cause a message to print in the Terminal Window until good communications has been reestablished.
CV Inputs
The control input signal after scaling according to the Min and Max settings. See Control Input Calibration for information on setting up control inputs.
Locked
Lights when the sample rate of the DPU matches the BoBs sample rate and audio can be passed by the BoB.
Note : Only newer version of BoBs have the ability to report his locked condition ( and mute when the condition is not satisfied ). When an older BoB is attached and sample rates are properly matched, this indicator will not light.
Max
Sets the Raw Input value which will produce a scaled value of 255. Even if the Raw Input exceeds the Max setting, the scaled Input will not go above 255.
Min
Sets the Raw Input value which will produce a scaled value of 0. Even if the Min setting exceeds the Raw Input, the scaled Input will not be allowed below 0.
Raw Input
Shows the raw control input signal before scaling. The analog control inputs have an 8 bit resolution.
Set Min
When pressed, the current Raw Input value is copied to the Min setting.
Set Max
When pressed, the current Raw Input value is copied to the Max setting.
Trouble
Indicates the BoB has internally detected a problem though is still able to communicate with the DPU. The indicator is automatically extinguished when the condition clears.
Note : When trouble is initially detected, a detailed error message is printed in the Terminal Window.
TTL Out
When Pressed, toggles the state of the TTL output on the BoB.
