CAB 16d
Purpose
The CAB 16d device provides entry and exit points for aes-3 audio signals. The CABs 8 aes stereo input pairs are transmitted on the network on 2 network bundles, and it outputs 2 network bundles on its 8 aes stereo output pairs.
Controls
CAB Link
LED on indicates a valid control link between the MediaMatrix frame and the CAB.
Hardware ID
The 4 digit hex id of the CAB. This needs to match the switch settings on the front of the CAB, and also must be unique for the whole system. Acceptable values are 0001 - FFFF. This setting has nothing to do with the bundle assignment (other than to identify the CAB that the "Network Bundle" control applies to).
Valid Hardware ID
LED on indicates that the Hardware ID entered is within the valid range of available Hardware IDs (0001 - FFFF).
Meter Mode
Makes the CAB display either its input or output levels on its 16 front panel meters. These two controls can also be changed via the front panel control.
Disable Outputs
This control mutes all AES outputs of the CAB 16d. It does not affect AES inputs being sent to the CobraNet port.
Network Bundle
Enter the network bundle that the CAB 16d should be transmitting or receiving on. Bundles 1-255 are multicast (broadcast to all) and 256-32767 are unicast (one-to-one broadcast). Unicast (256-32767) bundles are recommended to prevent network congestion.
Each Input Channel and Output Channel section on the lower half of the CAB 16d block has its own Network Bundle and Active LED. The title of each section indicates which "jacks" on the rear of the unit that it controls. When the Active (Transmitter or Receiver) LED is illuminated, it means that the CAB 16d is successfully transmitting or receiving audio to or from that Bundle, respectively.
Input Channel Status
Error
Indicates an error has been detected on the incoming audio.
Sample Rate Converter Disable
Disables the on board sample rate converters. The audio source must be locked to the CobraNet network for audio to be valid and lock.
