Level

Purpose

The Level device allows a signal to be boosted or attenuated. Although some devices include an integral level control in their signal path, the Level device adds a Trim control whose range can be adjusted. The gain through the device is the sum of the Level and Trim control settings. The level control is capable of producing up to +12dB of gain. Some of the integral level controls in other devices are not capable of producing gain.

Note: Although the combination of Level and Trim controls can specify a gain up to +24dB, The maximum gain the level device can produce is +12dB.

Controls

Invert

Inverts the polarity of the signal as it passes through the device.

Level

In combination with the Trim control, determines the gain or attenuation produced by the device.

Bump NEW!

These controls "bump" the level control a fixed amount up or down depending on the settings of the Bump Amount control.  Although you have always been able to make a copy of the level knob and make it serve nearly the same function, you haven't been able to get the same control from controllers sending commands through PASHA.  Now AMX/Crestron programmers have a way to move level controls by a predetermined amount.

Mute

Mutes the signal into the device. Digital silence is produced at the output regardless of the input.

Overload

Indicates clipping is occurring in the device. Clipping is possible if the device is producing gain.

Trim

In combination with the Level control, determines the gain or attenuation produced by the device.

Note: Regardless of the settings of Trim Min and Trim Max, the Trim knob is always allowed to turn over its full range. In order to keep the value of the Trim control constant and consistent with the knob position, the Trim knob will move as the Trim Max or Trim Min controls are adjusted.

Trim Max

Determines the maximum setting for the Trim control.

Trim Min

Determines the minimum setting for the Trim control.

Bump Amount NEW!

This controls how much the level control will move when the Bump buttons are used.  You can set this control anywhere between 0.00 (useless?) and 20.0.  The default value is 1.00.  The scale of this control is in dB.
