Room Combiner with delay
The room combiner with delay device is used to selectively combine multiple sound systems (using individual AutoMixers in each room), into larger sound systems, that are comprised of multiple individual room sound systems. It also adds a signal delay between in each room, in order to aid in aural signal alignment.
This is particularly useful in applications like hotel meetng/conference/ballrooms, where you often have individual rooms seperated by movable walls. In many instances, these walls can be folded back, making a large room out of two (or more) smaller rooms, for larger events. For example, you may have four rooms in a row, with three movable walls seperating them. You could combine rooms 1 and 2, rooms 2 and 3, rooms 3 and four, or all four rooms into a single large ballroom.
You select which rooms are combined by means of the Room Combiner Device control panel (child window), which provides five main choices.
|
All Rooms Combined |
This combines all of the rooms into a single large room |
|
No Rooms Combined |
This turns off any combining, and returns each room to it's normal state |
|
Mute All Rooms |
This mutes all inputs on all of the automixers used in each room |
|
Delay Controls |
When the delay controls button is pushed, it will open the control panel for "Delay Controls". This is set up in an X|Y table. on the top are the audio outputs of the combiner, to the left are the inputs to the combiner from the output of each AutoMixer. In order to set the delay times, the view file must be compiled, and you must be in Control Mode. You may enter the delay times for each setting by either clicking on the blue delay time box and typing in an exact value, or by clicking on the box, and while still holding the mouse button down, gesturing to the time you desire, then releasing the mouse button. |
|
Wall Switches |
Pressing this button opens the Wall Switches Control Panel (child window). In this window, individual combine switches are provided for linking multiple individual rooms. For example, pressing the first button shown below combines rooms one and two, the second button rooms one and three, etc. Multiple buttons can be pushed to combine more than a single pair of rooms. In order to work however, the view file MUST be compiled, and you must be in Control Mode. |
In order to use the Room Combiner device, it must be connected to individual AutoMixer devices AND to an AutoMixer Linker device, as shown in the Room Combiner documentation.
