CobraNet Support in MediaMatrix
When combined with MediaMatrix, CobraNet™ allows the audio inputs and outputs of a MediaMatrix system to be separated from the Frame where the audio processing takes place. The BoB input/output boxes that have traditionally been used to get audio in and out of MediaMatrix have a distance limitation of 6 feet from the Frame. CobraNet allows distances of up to 100, 2,000, or even 100,000 meters with the right equipment. To enable CobraNet support in MediaMatrix, the MM-DSP-CN is used. A CAB-8i CobraNet input provides 8 mic or line-level inputs, and a CAB-8o provides 8 line-level outputs. A CAB-16i CobraNet input provides 16 line-level inputs, and a CAB-16o provides 16 line level outputs. The CAB-16d provides 8 AES or S/PDIF input pairs and 8 AES or S/PDIF output pairs. In addition, MediaMatrix when equipped with CobraNet is compatible with all other CobraNet equipment from other manufacturers. See the CobraNet homepage for information on this exciting subject.
