Wire Mode
Wire Mode may be entered from the Mode Menu, the Pop-up Menu or Ctrl-W Keyboard Accelerator.
In Wire Mode, the cursor is a Plug
or Spool
when the mouse button is being held down. Wire
Mode allows the designer to edit the wiring between Block
Objects.
New wires may be added by clicking on the source node and dragging to the destination node. Multiple nodes may be selected in Wire Mode using standard selection techniques. When multiple nodes are selected, multiple wires may be added in one operation by clicking and dragging from one of the selected nodes.
Block Objects may also be selected in Wire Mode. Clicking and dragging from one Block Object to another will connect as many wires as possible from the first block to the second block. The direction that you move the mouse immediately after pressing the button determines whether you are dragging from the input nodes (if you moved the mouse to the left) or output nodes (if you moved the mouse to the right).
If you are dragging wires from multiple input nodes and want them to all connect to the same output node rather than spreading out to the next available output nodes, you can press and hold either the shift key or the right mouse button and the wires will assume the all-to-one configuration. Note that this is not possible when dragging from output nodes to input nodes, as each input node only allows a single wire to be connected.
