Locking blocks so they cannot be opened in control mode
The second method is to make it so the block is locked, and cannot be opened and adjusted in the Control mode. If you restrict other users to Twiddler or Operator status, then they cannot switch modes (to edit mode), and as a result, will be locked into control mode. This restricts access to this block to those users with Supervisor or Designer privileges. This can be accomplished by copying controls from the control panel child window to either the parent window or to a new window or block. Typically a user control panel is created for this purpose. Lock the control panel by left clicking on the block to select it in edit mode, then right click and select "Properties", then left clicking on the "Block" tab, and select the "Locked-Cannot be opened in control mode" radio button. See the help file section on Block Object Properties for more information on this step. Repeat this step for each block that you want to lock out. The operator does not have access to the control panel since it is locked and therefore can only gesture those controls which are not in a locked block.
