Status Bar
The Status bar gives information regarding the status of MediaMatrix. There are nine fields in the Status Bar.
Field 1: Progress reporting
This field indicates the status of the current or last operation performed. If the system seems unresponsive, it may be in the process of doing something; check this field of the Status Bar for progress information. If an operation is in progress the text in this field will usually be followed by three periods (...).
Field 2: Operating Mode
This field indicates the mode of operation that the system
is currently in. It
will display "Control" when in Control Mode, "Wire"
when in Wire Mode, "Edit" when in Edit Mode or "Paint"
when in Paint Mode.

Field 3: Current User
The full name of the current Logged On user is displayed in this field. If no user is currently Logged On, the Default User (DefaultUser) will be displayed.
Field 4: Object Information
When a single object is selected, information about that object is displayed in this field. The field is blank when multiple objects or no objects are selected.
When a Control Object is selected and gestured, the control's Current Value is displayed. When Keyboard Type-in is used to change a control's Current Value, this field echoes the characters as they are being typed.
When a Block Object or Graphic Object is selected, the object's text is displayed in this field.
When you are operating in the wire mode the following is displayed:
If the cursor is over a block the block's text is displayed.
If the cursor is over a node the node type and the node number is displayed (such as: Audio Input 3).
If you are wiring multiple connections between devices the node number that the cursor is over will be displayed. If you drag the multiple wires over a device the uppermost node number that will be wired to in the group will be displayed.
Field 5: System Status-Compiled or Not Compiled
This field indicates whether the system has been compiled or not. If it has been compiled "Compiled" will appear, if it has not been compiled "Not Compiled" will appear.

Field 6: Changed / Modified Field:
This field indicates whether the current configuration
has been changed since it was saved or compiled. If
the view file has been changed and the view is not compiled, the field
with show
. If
the configuration has been compiled since the last modification, yet not
saved, the field will show
.
To restate, when the view file has been modified, but
the file has:
Not been
compiled (whether or not it was saved) = 
Been compiled
but not saved = 
Field 7: Control ID
When the system is in edit mode and a control is selected it's Control ID will be displayed in this field. This is especially useful when you are trying to identify where a control that was copied out of a block "came from". You can find another control with the same Control ID to identify the controls origin.
